St Birinus School is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its students in their GCSE qualifications this summer. Students in this Year 11 cohort have worked consistently hard against a backdrop of unprecedented disruption spanning four school years.  We are delighted that the grades awarded today genuinely recognise their commitment and ambition and allow students to progress onto the destinations that they desire.

75% of our 134 Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, and 54% achieved Grade 5 or above in both.

73% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-4) and 52% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9-5).

81% of students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and 81% achieved Grade 4 and above in Maths. At Grade 5 and above, 68% were successful in English and 57% in Maths.

In summary, for the 134 students in Year 11:  

73% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9 – 4)

52% of students gained 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths (9 – 5)

81% of students gained a grade 4 or above in English  

68% of students gained a grade 5 or above in English  

22% of students gained a grade 7 or above in English  

81% of students gained a grade 4 or above in Maths 

57% of students gained a grade 5 or above in Maths  

26% of students gained a grade 7 or above in Maths  

Overall Attainment 8 figure – 51.4

105 (of 180) students in Year 10 sat GCSE Statistics this summer and 78% achieved a grade 5 or above.
